How not to overdo it with decorations and not turn into a sparkling “magpie”
Jewelry – from the word “decorate.” However, surely everyone will remember among acquaintances such a woman (aunt, colleague, neighbor, friend) who regularly puts on a lot of incompatible jewelry. In this article we will discuss the most common mistakes of women who want to become more beautiful with the help of jewelry and bijoux.
Jewelry is an important detail of style, the final chord, which is able to make a modest outfit elegant or, on the contrary, spoil the impression of a well-chosen suit or dress. The result does not depend on the price category: sometimes it is better to put on a tasteful costume jewelry, than a tasteless jewel. But how to determine which decoration will hopelessly ruin the image, if what for one bad taste, seems like a high style to another? In fact, fashion is partly mathematics, the science of formulas and laws, which it is better not to violate.
Law 1. All the best – just not immediately!
Eastern women had a tradition to wear without removing most of the expensive jewelry: in the event of divorce, everything that was put on the woman was considered her property. But why should we? A “popular” fashionable mistake is to put on several chains at the same time, and each can also have a pendant. It looks both tasteless and weird. Love the “stacked” necklace? Buy yourself a multi-tiered necklace! But do not imitate it with the help of gold and silver chains and different-style pendants.
Some “fashionistas” can justify wearing two chains in that one is for decoration (pendant or pendant), and the other for a cross. However, from the point of view of religion, and from the point of view of fashion, it is incorrect to demonstrate to others the creeds. Not for nothing in Russia about the dishonest man said that he had a “cross over his shirt.”
Another fashionable “sin” is to wear all the items from the jewelry set at once: earrings, necklace, ring and bracelet. And shine like a Christmas tree. But jewelry is accents, not uniform icing throughout the body. They will look much more elegant and spectacular if you divide the set into two: for example, today wear earrings and a ring, tomorrow – a necklace and a bracelet.
Law 2. Gold – separately, silver – separately
Another common mistake is a combination of gold and silver jewelry within a single bow (for example, favorite yellow gold earrings and a silver chain not less favorite; a classic wedding ring and a silver bracelet on the same hand, etc.).
There is a rule: decorations should be of the same color, as well as of the same “texture” (either a shiny or matte surface). By the way, yellow gold is popular only in the post-Soviet space: European jewelers and designers prefer to work with white gold (or with the “lemon” range of precious metal).
Therefore, if you are going to buy new earrings, you should take a closer look at white gold (with elegant small stones): this “base” is the most universal and, most likely, “friends” with most of the jewelry-jewelry wardrobe.
Law 3. Not all fingers on the ring!
The pain of jewelers with taste is the ladies who think that the number of rings worn at one time directly depends on the number of fingers. It is “expensive and rich.” It is especially sad to see a woman masking rather beautiful hands with yellow-gold rings of “consumer goods” design in combination with “Khokhloma” painting of nails.
According to etiquette appropriate and stylish maximum – 2 rings on the adjacent fingers of one hand, usually the ring and middle ones. Sometimes designers offer more daring options with numerous rings, but this, firstly, is a designer thing, not a coarse fake, and secondly, outrageous decoration implies the most neutral manicure without vampire nails.
Act 4. Day and evening do not confuse
Where can most women show their jewelery pride? Of course, at work. More appropriate occasions – the theater, a cocktail party, a visit to a popular exhibition, etc. – are very rare in the life of an ordinary woman, and colleagues in the service are constant “loyal spectators”. Some ladies are so eager to show all their wealth, that the cabinets and corridors of organizations become an improvised scene for fashion shows of evening collections. Here you can also find a necklace “like GAGI”, and earrings “like Jolie” …
But do not ignore the dress code, which also applies to jewelry. Restraint (both in color and size), the simplicity of the lines and the adequacy of the price category – these are the main guidelines. For design delights there is an evening and informal atmosphere.
